List for Class of 2014

Beloit College has came up with a list I find very interesting.  A few things on the list I find to be true, however I find some that are false.  Many of the things on the list our generation has just plain forgotten about, but we did learn about it at some point.

The first one that I disagree with is that few in the class know how to write in cursive.  Everyone was taught it when younger, but many of us have forgotten how to write it.  While learning cursive we were required to use it all of the time, but after awhile we didn't use it at all.  I remember taking the ACT's and having to write the paragraph on the back in cursive and I didn't know how to do it.  I believe everyone can write a little bit in cursive.

Another one I disagree with is toothpaste tubes stand on their caps.  I can't say I have ever seen a tube of toothpaste that stands on the cap.  I agree with Beethoven being a good name for a dog.  It seems like many movies have a dog named Beethoven in them.  However, when I hear Beethoven I think of only the composer not a dog.

Many of the things on the list I can say I dont know what they are talking about, which proves the point of the list.  Our generation has grown up in a time where new items are continuously being made.  The list is just showing how much things change over a period of time.
